Is called Green Booking and promises a common commitment by institutions, private companies and tourists in the direction of sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism: 1000 new trees on the Romagna Riviera in 5 years, the goal, to which the hotels 8 municipalities on the coast from Ravenna to Cattolica.
The project, conceived by the Rimini tourism promotion web agency Info Hotels Srl, officially concluded the first cycle of planting on Monday 21 December by planting an allergy-free laurel hedge in the garden of the Annika Brandi school in Riccione. About 160 trees, bushes and hedges were the essences planted in 2016 in the municipalities of the coast from Milano Marittima to Cattolica: 60 in Rimini, 44 in Riccione, 28 in Bellaria, 10 in Cattolica (for the natural restoration of a dune on the mouth of the Conca), 5 at the Ring of Pino in Milano Marittima, 9 in Cesenatico and 3 on the Misano seafront.
But the number does not seem to be definitive yet: new interventions on Cesenatico are expected within the first days of 2017 that would bring the number to 200.
"We strongly believe that our coast needs to invest in a new development lever and that this lever is the environment - explains Lucio Bonini, founding partner of Info Alberghi Srl - the respect and restoration of naturalistic areas on the coast is a duty for the future of the territory, for citizens and tourists. And the only way to intervene in a strong and concrete way in this direction is through synergy. "
Through the portal www.info-alberghi.com, which promotes 1155 hotels on the Romagna Riviera from the Ravenna Lidos to Gabicce Mare, hotels have the opportunity to inquire about the project and upon joining they donate a contribution entirely devolved to the purchase of trees for its municipality, to which is added a large corporate donation to two locations (in 2016 Rimini and Riccione benefited) and a tree for every two participating hotels. Web users looking for a hotel on the Riviera can contribute indirectly by choosing a structure among those participating in the project for their holidays, thus establishing a virtuous circle of good practices.

The proceeds collected during the year flowed into the plantings that took place throughout the Riviera in the month from 21 November 2016, national tree day, to 21 December 2016 with the planting of an allergy free laurel hedge in the garden of the Annika primary school. And if today, a month after the first trees planted in Piazzale Marvelli in Rimini, we have reached 200 plants planted in all the municipalities of the coast from Cervia to Cattolica, we can only thank the promoters for the sensitivity shown with a initiative so original in the hope that this commitment is not occasional but can continue in the near future.”
